Dermalogica| Special Cleansing Gel & Skin Smoothing Cream

Hey guys, 

Today’s review is going to be on the dermalogica special cleansing gel & skin smoothing cream. 

I’m going to be completely honest in this review, I didn’t like either of them... why? Ya better read on!! 

So I went in to Ballantynes to get some skin care I went to the dermologica because they’re my trusty go to, I worked with the products in college I know how most of them work. 

Anyway, after I bought the products ( with the lady’s recommendation) I did some research, the products sounded like exactly what I was looking for.... 

Special cleansing gel - 

On the website it states that it is a soap free, foaming gel cleanses all skin conditions, refreshing larther throughly removed debris without destroying the skins moisture balance, calming balm mint and lavander extract soothes the skin while natura quillaja sapanaria gently foams away toxins and debris formulated without artificial fragrances and colours, 

Basically it’s got two benefits 

🔹 washes away debris with out stripping or drying the skin 

🔹 calming aging helps sooth and purify skin

Now after trying this product for a few weeks (and still trying) I can confirm that all of this is not true. Well on my skin anyway. I have normal to combination skin, when ever I use this to take my make up off I have to go over with miceller water after, it also leaves my skin all dry and like a cracking type feel to it, leaves my face dry and itchy, it’s horrible, it also burns your eyes, so keep away from the eye areas

Skin smoothing cream - 

On the website it says, medium weight moisturiser to balance combination/dry skin, deep moisturiser lecithin and aloe gel nourish whilst extracts of mellow cucumber and arnica soothe and hydrates the skin helping to restore suppleness and time. 

Again, 3 Benefits 

🔹 soothes fine lines and promote electricity 

🔹 shields against dehydration and pollution 

🔹 antioxidants help fight ageing free radicals 

Nope, again it’s not how the products work, I asked the woman at the counter for a moisturiser that was very hydrating quite thick and works well under make up, this moisturiser is very light, you need a lot of product to make your face feel hydrated and it is a terrible base for foundation, in all seriousness, it could be my skin, the products could work perfectly for other people, but for me they didn’t work and I wouldn’t reccomend then, saying that. I’m not bagging the brand, I still believe the brand is amazing, just not for me.
