Hello,

Welcome back to my blog.

I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do for a valentines blog post. I decided to do a valentines make up look but also perfect for any occasion,

In 8 simple steps you can achieve a seamless sharp make up look. Although I chose these colours you can do the same technique but with what ever colour you want to use.

I will write a step then at the end add a photo so you can see what I mean.

The eye shadows I used are:

🔹 Colour Junkie | Autumn 350m

🔹 Urban Decay | Naked

▪️Step one | Find some tape (you can use anything but I always use first aid tape or hospital- it’s easy to break and sensitive on skin) place it at the corner of your eyes aiming from the end of your brows down. You will see in the photo below. This helps create a sharp line which is a very flattering shape for the eye. You will also need 3 brushes, one medium fluffy brush, one large fluffy brush and a flat shader brush, the medium brush will be for the application of the eye shadow, the large brush will be for the blending and the flat shaded brush will be for the shimery eyeshadow we use at the end.

▪️Step Two|

Find a transition shade, transition shades are a light colour you use on your lid to help blend all the dark colours together, using light colours to start will help create a nice gradient to the eye. Place the colour just above the crease and use the large fluffy brush to blend using windscreen motions.

▪️ Step Three| Find a darker colour with the same tones as the first transition colour you chose, put this directly in your crease using the medium brush, one you get the colour you want use the larger brush to blend  out the harsh lines. Start blending using small circular mostions switching to windscreen wiper motion

▪️Step Four | You can now start adding your darker colours, I decided to go for a purple/brown colour, you want to use the medium brush and pop the colour directly in the crease but focusing on the outer V of your eye, use the large blending brush to combine the transition colour and dark colour together, we want to make sure there are no harsh lines.

▪️Step Five| Choose a shimmer shade that you want, I used urban decay naked, toasted & virgin, this is where you use the flat shaded brush and place it in the inner mist part of the eye. Get your larger brush and blend the end of the shimmer shade and the Matt shade together to make sure there is no obvious line from where one shadow finishes and the other one starts.

▪️Step Six | Choose another dark colour place it where the tape is focusing it in the corner, bring it to the crease but making sure when your closer to the inner corner there is not much product left on the brush, use your large brush and blend, blend, blend!!

▪️Step Seven | once you take the tape off, use the medium brush and go under the eye, use the larger brush to blend it so it isn’t to harsh.

▪️Step Eight| From here it is up to you what you want to do, I love leaving my eyes like this, but you can add black eye shadow to the lash line or you can use liquid/Gel eye liner, you can also add a bright inner corner highlighter and a brow brown highlighter. Pop a mascara on and fake eye lashes to finish it off.

I hope this this step by step tutorial helps, even if it’s not for Valentine’s Day!

If you would like to see a video there is a short tutorial on my instagram @libertysbeautyblog

Thank you 💙💙
